סימונה רופיני

Simone Ruffini is a doctoral student at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research project focuses on the development of the Persian panegyric qasideh during the Ilkhanid period, studying this type of poetry not only from a literary perspective, but also in relation to the historical and cultural context in which it was produced.  He has obtained a degree in Asian Languages, Markets and Cultures from the University of Bologna and an MA in Near and Middle Easter Studies from SOAS. He has studied Persian and Arabic both in Morocco and Iran and has translated works of the modern Iranian intellectual Jalal Al-e Ahmad from Persian to Italian.
