המרכז הוקם כדי לעודד וליזום מחקר על דת האסלאם ותרבותה מראשית האסלאם במאה השביעית לספירה ועד היום, בעולם הערבי, במזרח התיכון, באסיה, באפריקה, ואף במערב.

מילון ערבי-עברי

מילון מקוון של הערבית התקנית בת זמננו, בעיקר לשון התקשורת הערבית בכתב ובעל-פה. בראש מפעל המילון עומד פרופ' מנחם מילסון. צוות חוקרים, תלמידים ובוגרים של החוג לשפה וספרות ערבית, משתתף במפעל חיבור המילון.

מכון קונפיוציוס

מכון קונפוציוס באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים פועל בשיתוף פעולה פורה בין האוניברסיטה העברית לבין אוניברסיטת פקין (Peking University). המכון שואף לקדם את הידע על סין בקרב הסטודנטים ובקרב הקהל הרחב בישראל, לפתח את הקשרים האקדמיים בין סין וישראל ולתמוך בכל פעילות שתעמיק את ההכרות עם החברה והתרבות הסינית ועם השפה הסינית.

מרכז לואיס פרייברג ללימודי מזרח אסיה

נוסד בשנת 2006 כמרכז רב-תחומי, המרכז בין כתליו חברי סגל ממחלקות שונות באוניברסיטה העברית, העוסקים בתחום לימודי מזרח אסיה.

הספרייה האסיאתית

הספרייה האסיאתית באוניברסיטה העברית היא ספרייה ראשונה מסוגה בישראל והיא מכילה למעלה מ-10,000 כותרים בשפות אסיה השונות. הספרייה מציעה תשתית חיונית ללימודים ולמחקר עבור סטודנטים לתואר ראשון ולתארים מתקדמים בתחומי אסיה ופתוחה גם לחוקרים אורחים ולמבקרים.

ספריית המנגה (קומיקס יפני)

החוג ללימודי אסיה הקים ספרייה של כמאתיים ספרי מנגה שעוסקים בהיסטוריה יפנית וסדרות של אמני מנגה יפנים מפורסמים כגון טזוקה אוסמו, מיזוקי שיגרו ונקזאווה קייג'י. האוסף נועד לעודד את ציבור הסטודנטים לקרוא על יפן ועל תרבותה, וליצור קהילה לימודית שוקקת.

אוסף שגן לאמנות יפנית

אוסף שאגן לאמנות יפנית הוקם בשנת 2016 הודות לתרומתו של מר עופר שגן לזכר אחותו אורנית (שגן) טלמון. האוסף כולל יותר ממאה וחמישים פריטי אמנות שונים מהמאה ה-15 ועד המאה ה-19, לרבות הדפסים, מגילות, ספרים, ציורי משי ומסכות.
