Jianyu SHEN (沈剑彧) is a PhD student from the department of Jewish Thought at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem under the supervision of prof. Jonathan Garb and prof. Andrew Plaks. She acquired her MA degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and BA from Shanghai International Studies University.

Her current project is a comparative research on the image of saints in the Jewish and the Daoist hagiographies. Her research interests include Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah), comparative religion, Daoism, hagiography, etc. from the cross-cultural perspective.
